Description:
For decades SPSS has been among the most popular software packages for statistical analyses, especially– but not only – in the social sciences. Its graphical pull-down menu interface mostly facilitates data management, analysis and visualization. However, SPSS can be used much more efficiently by using the command syntax. Here it is very useful to learn about those features by practising it in a guided workshop.
During the last years – associated with the purchase of the company by IBM® – SPSS has changed a lot. Not always for the better, as many annoyed users know: Performance loss, rearranged menus, new but undocumented features, and an irritating graphics system are among the often reported nuisances.
The workshop is targeted at giving the experienced data analyst the chance to refresh her or his skills to master and take full advantage of all new features. The workshop programme can be tailored to the needs of the participants, if special questions are communicated in advance.
